The Atlantic Coast Conference has long been ripe with pitching prospects, producing the likes of Jamie Arnold, Chase Burns, and Reid Detmers in recent years. But there is a gem hidden on the West Coast from the ACC’s newest program. 

California’s Gavin Eddy had an up-and-down first taste of college ball as a redshirt freshman, posting a 5.74 ERA across 58 innings in the bullpen and rotation. While he had his fair share of memorable outings, including a late-season five-inning shutout against Florida State where he punched seven, but there were also outings he’d like to forget. But he’s become a different beast in 2026, currently throwing to a 2.97 ERA in 78.2 innings with 89 punch outs.
