When you think of the biggest winners on draft day, your first thought is likely which MLB team got the best haul of players.
But this thought also applies to college teams, coaches, and fans, hoping and praying that their top recruits make it to campus. Searching for their Roch Cholowsky or Derek Curiel.
Last year, names like Anthony Pack Jr., Nico Partida, and Trent Grindlinger made it to campus, now looking like top 10 selections as opposed to a second or third round pick.
These assumptions can often be made after day one, as the top prep prospects rarely get taken past day one. Obviously, there will be exceptions. Josiah Hartshorn, Briggs McKenzie, and Miguel Sime Jr. all signed for two-plus million dollars on day two last summer, but the players that will and won’t sign are often easy to predict.
