How it took this long for Christ Church Episcopal shortstop Bo Lowrance to shoot up draft boards remains a mystery. He looks the part off the bus. 6-foot-5, 205 pounds. Long levers, broadness in the shoulders, and athleticism befitting of a player four inches shorter. He steps into the batters box and it's a sweet left-handed swing with obvious power projection. How'd this happen? How'd we miss him for this long?
Lowrance wasn't a household name last summer. He wasn't a known commodity at East Coast Pro. He didn't do Area Code Games. He didn't qualify for Phase 1 of Team USA NTDP. Lowrance was always on the periphery. But scouts have flocked in to see him this spring, and it hasn't slowed.
It's gotten so thick in Greenville, South Carolina, Lowrance might not make it out of the front-half of the first round in July. He's a rocketship.
