Projection is, in a sense, the bread and butter of scouting. It's the act of looking forward and asking whether a player can get better. Even the best of the best have things to adopt and improve upon as they climb the ladder. For this exercise, however, we're talking about physical projection.

Many of the college players atop the class had to grow into their frames, adding weight and strength, and even speed and athleticism, to get where they are now. For most of them, what that looks like at the next level has come into much clearer focus after two-plus years in college. That said, some players haven't come close to reaching their physical upside and still have another gear left to unlock. If they fill out their bodies and add power or velocity, their draft stock could soar.
