The 2027 class figures to be a strong one for college arms, not just for the starters with top-flight upside, but also for those closing down games at the back-end. Not many guys in the last couple of years have been taken high and zipped through the minors as a reliever. Many of those candidates have been converted into starters in the low minors, even if it's mostly a formality. We went through a period in the 90s and mid-2000s where high octane, high probability closers were first round picks. Those days are behind us.
