LAST UPDATE: 4/5/2026

The college baseball season is in full swing and conference play is underway. Dissectable data is helping to lead the charge at this stage. That said, our three pillars of player evaluation remain -- Live looks, data evaluation and conversations with scouting executives.

UCLA shortstop Roch Cholowsky continues to hold down the top spot. It's a reasonably whole profile with tools in every facet of the game. He's got a chance to go pole-to-pole if he can continue his current pace, however the gap between he and the likes of Grady Emerson and Vahn Lackey has shrunk. Likewise, Emerson brings a level of polish and production seldom seen in his demographic. It's a tremendous blend of floor and upside.

The strength of this class appears to be high school pitching now. The arms are diverse, deep and impactful in a number of different ways and flavors. College pitching has a chance to have a really nice bucket of arms in the top three rounds, however it's lighter at the top. High school position players are good, but don't appear great. Most players have a red flag they'll need to work through in the spring, however this is usually the time of year where strength gains provide better understanding of the players available in July.

Enjoy.
