Texas knew what they were getting in Carson Tinney. He had just come off of a 1.251 OPS season at Notre Dame in his sophomore season before entering the transfer portal, in which he was undoubtedly a top item in the portal class. He met expectations more than well with a similar offensive output and an improved defensive showing.

Tinney went to Texas and simply got better – in every area. Even the bat speed marginally improved on its already 70-grade stature. But more importantly, the hit tool and defense took massive leaps to push the floor of his future value upwards.
