In this age of college baseball with the transfer portal and NIL running rampant, just because a pitcher would be starting for most teams, doesn’t necessarily mean that's what they are. Especially in some of the deeper pitching staffs in the country, there are gems hidden underneath the surface who can rise when given the opportunity to properly get their opportunities. We can already see this with pitchers like Tanner Franklin, JT Quinn, and Mason Peters, all primary relievers from the 2025 draft, finding success in pro ball from the get-go in the rotation.
