On Friday, it was reported Pittsburgh Pirates Director of Amateur Scouting Justin Horowitz is leaving the organization to join the Washington Nationals in an assistant general manager role.

Horowitz worked alongside new Nationals President of Baseball Operations Paul Toboni extensively in Boston from 2015 through 2023.
It's a big loss for the Pirates organization and farm system that seems to have taken a positive turn in the last couple years. Horowitz was hired away from the Boston Red Sox after the 2023 season. In his two years with the Pirates, Horowitz played a large part in the drafting and signing of top prospects Konnor Griffin and Seth Hernandez.
