Tucked away in the rolling hills of North Carolina, Ty Brachbill is quietly making a name for himself. The junior right-handed pitcher is the ace of High Point University, transferring over after two years at Northern Illinois.
Brachbill’s first two years of college ball were unspectacular in nature. He started nearly every weekend during his freshman and sophomore years, but the results were mixed, pitching to an ERA above seven in both seasons. His stuff was good, and there was a clear feel for pitching with Brachbill, but he had trouble keeping traffic off the bases and lacked consistency.
Heading into his draft-eligible junior year, Brachbill left his native Illinois for a new chapter in the Carolinas.
