On Thursday, via his Instagram, Huntington Beach outfielder/left-handed pitcher Jared Grindlinger announced he is re-classifying up from the 2027 class to the 2026 class. Grindlinger ranked as the No. 3 high school prospect in the 2027 class before the move.

Grindlinger will be one of the youngest draft-eligible prospects in the modern era. He'll turn 17 years old just three months prior to the draft. He won't be the younges player in the 2026 draft, however. That title will still belong to shortstop Rocco Maniscalco.

After re-classifying, Grindlinger slots in as the No. 28 high school prospect in the 2026 Draft, however rankings are set to update in the coming weeks. He is set to rise quite higher at that point.
