This update of the Over-Slot Top 100 Board brings more information and metrics into the fold than ever before. While we're still several months away from fully understanding what the 2027 Draft will look like, each new piece of information helps provide signal toward a consensus.
Florida shortstop Brendan Lawson ranks as our No. 1 collegiate position player prospect in the class at this stage. His unique combination of raw power and bat speed, pitch selection skills at such a young age, and zone coverage with the barrel, makes it easy to dream on his offensive profile. Oregon State right-handed pitcher Dax Whitney is our top-ranked pitcher and overall playersthanks to his unique deception, his north-south arsenal, and huge pitch grades.
The strength of this class appears to be the college arms. They're diverse, deep and impactful in a number of different ways and flavors. The college pitching has a chance to have a really nice bucket of arms in the top two rounds.
