The Boston Red Sox are naming Jake Bruml their new Director of Amateur Scouting. The departure of Devin Pearson on Tuesday evening left the role vacant.
It's been a tumultuous offseason already for the Red Sox and November has yet to arrive. The loss of VP Paul Toboni was already a difficult hole to fill. Pearson's exit makes two leaders that will be difficult shoes to fill.
Bruml is equipped to succeed. Bruml has worked for the Red Sox going back to 2019 when he was hired before the season began. He started as a pro scouting intern and was quickly elevated to an assitant in amateur and pro scouting prior to the 2020 season. After two years in that role, Bruml took the title of coordinator in amateur scouting before being promoted to the assistant director after the 2023 season.
