The Boston Red Sox have been revered within the industry of late for their drafting and developing prowess over the course of the last half-decade. That department took a sizable hit on Tuesday as the team's Director of Amateur Scouting, Devin Pearson, has reportedly accepted another offer to become the Assistant General Manager for the Washington Nationals.

The move shouldn't come as a huge surprise. When former Red Sox Senior Vice President Paul Toboni was announced as the Washington Nationals new president of baseball operations, it was fair to speculate if he'd bring over any peers from Boston. Pearson appears to be the first -- a significant get at that.
